Summary and QualificationsAs a highly-skilled and compassionate
Registered Nurse this position provides holistic, individualized
care using the nursing process for patients routinely seen on the
unit. Demonstrates clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching
skills and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care.
Independently performs general and unit-specific clinical skills.
Contributes to the St. Mark's Hospital Department of Nursing and
the nursing profession in a positive manner. Will float to any
department in the hospital. Supports hospital throughput with the
timely Admit/Discharge of hospital patients. Our team supports each

care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:
- Assessment of Patients: Systematically and continually assesses
the health and status of the patient assuring the application of
age specific standards.
- Care of the Patient: In collaboration with the patient/family,
with regard to developmental, cultural and age specific
differences, develops and implements patient care plans to include
problems, goals, evaluations and interventions.
- Management of information: Documents assessments, interventions
and evaluations of care objectively and timely, using the computer
technology required by the department.
- Surveillance, prevention and control of infection: Follows
established policies and procedures to identify and reduce the
risks of acquiring or transmitting infection by use of personal
protective measures.
- Leadership: Provides clear, concise and pertinent direction to
the care team, based on resources, identified patient care needs
and nursing staff skill level, documents critical incidents, uses
time and supplies resourcefully, functions as charge nurse as
needed.
- Education of patient/family: Provides patient/family education
with regard to assessing ability to learn, special learning needs,
and evaluating effectiveness of teaching.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and
uses the system to report potential safety issues.What
qualifications you will need
- Current State of Utah Registered Nurse license or RN Compact
license
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic
Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- Any other certification/training required by the department in
which employee is floating.
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Must have the sensitivity, maturity and ability to communicate
clearly and concisely.
- Broad knowledge of admission/discharge criteria, MDR, and
self-motivated individual strongly preferred
- At least three-years medical/surgical or similar acute care
