Job SummaryPerforms inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance and
repair of traction power substations, overhead catenary system, and
assists Line and Signal A-Level Technicians with inspection,
troubleshooting and repair of wayside and onboard signal systems
for all UTA rail systems.Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree preferred and/or two years verified education
in Electrical or related field OR must possess a one year
certificate in Electrical and one year of verified experience in
related field.
- Must successfully pass the Rail Maintenance Qualification exam
Line & Signal Technician.
- Ability to perform the duties of the job safely, efficiently
and in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations without
direct supervision, including the ability to operate required
vehicles or equipment.
- Knowledge or ability to learn first aid and appropriate safety
practices and be able to demonstrate same.
- Be able to acquire and maintain a DOT Medical card.
- Have a valid Utah Drivers License.
- Have a current or be able to acquire a valid Class A CDL permit
prior to the start date.
- Be a safe driver with no more than 2 moving violations in the
past 3 years.
- Have no violations of driving under the influence of alcohol,
any drug, or the combined influence of any alcohol or any drug
within the last 10 years.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job to include
walking long distances in a quick manner on uneven surfaces,
lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs regularly and over 51 lbs
occasionally on uneven surfaces, prolonged periods of standing,
crawling, and laying on uneven surfaces, able to work in tight and
awkward positions, work outside in all weather conditions, able to
safely and comfortably work at heights, and constantly aware of
surroundings.

day of hire with more extensive list to be acquired by the end of
the probationary period).This job requires regular and predictable
attendance.- OR -An equivalent combination of relevant education
and experience.

Shift:9:00 pm to 7:30 am with Days Off: Sun/Mon/Tue OR
Thur/Fri/Sat*

Pay Rate: $31.69 - 32.69 per hour, plus $1.00 to $1.50 shift
differential depending on shift, if applicable. This is a one year
wage progression.
